2015 – Nepal

A violent earthquake devastates Nepal. It hits over 600,000 families wiping out homes, schools, infrastructures and all the basic elements for existence.

2013 – Philippines

Typhoon Haiyan swipes away entire villages, literally wiping out homes, electricity lines, communication systems and provoking the death of thousands of people. The drinking water shortage leads to many serious difficulties and to the spread of illnesses caused by contaminated water.

2011 – Horn of Africa

Similar droughts had never been recorded over the past 60 years in Kenia, Somalia, Ethiopia and Djibouti. Over 12 million people at risk of dying due to malnutrition, to the very limited availability of drinking water and to the high risk of developing diseases.

In recent years, the global risk consulting company has drawn up a list of 229 Countries based on the risk of natural disasters resulting from climate changes and according to what happened over the past 3 decades. Bangladesh, Indonesia, Iran, India and China top the ranking for the extreme risk of tsunamis and earthquakes. The conditions of France and Italy are worrying due to the recent and very strong heatwaves, while hurricanes and storms are the possible main causes of devastation for the United States.
